My better half and I have recently finished our beginners diving course in the UK. We upgraded straight away to a sophisticated course and were considering having a scuba vacation. A holiday to lift us up, so we selected the Red Sea. We had considered taking a scuba holiday in the Sheschelles but the overall holiday prices were way out of our budget.

We also needed to avoid crowds so we probably did not look into Sharm however wandering on the net we found this place called Safaga. The best thing about Safaga is that it’s also windy. This was the 1st scuba diving vacation that we ever took. To make things easier and more relaxed we went thru a company that focus only on sports abroad which tailor quoted our scuba diving holiday. We managed to choose from a wide array of accommodations and some dive colleges. We made a decision to go for a particular hotel because it looked clean, was reasonable and also they’d a windsurfing club on site. The dive college was well run by friendly, welcoming and funny executives who all took their job seriously and enthusiastically.
During out two weeks scuba diving holiday, we dived twice a day and I got 4 full days of windsurfing as well , while my other half was relaxing by the enthralling pool. The grub was brilliant and didn’t get the Egyptian tummy! We had a lot of lobster, and some very nicely prepared grouper. The dive sites were just amazing ( though we skipped the Salem wreck, out of respect of the three hundred casualties ).
During this scuba diving holiday, we didn’t dive twice at the same spot and witnessed so much sea life that I’ll not recall the whole thing. The high spot of the dives was this confrontation with this pretty manta ray which got so close to my other half that she was able to touch it. We got a little frightened when a whitetip shark became a little too curious to our liking! The dolphins were so stunning it made me feel guilty to have fed on them the prior evening!

We were talking about purchasing another diving holiday next spring, back to Egypt as they are such a lot of dive sites to enjoy. The vicinity of the med makes it magnificant for wreck dives, that may be the center of our next dive holiday.

Throughout Germany, more than 10,000 students are protesting and demonstrating in 70-cities over university programs, rising costs and numerous other conditions.  As a result of their demands for government intervention and immediate action, the Education Minister in Berlin has called for the immediate enactment of reforms that have already been agreed upon.  According to German Translation workers covering the protests,  there have been a number of mixed signals from school and government officials concerning the streamlining of academic programs, changes to degree programs, school policies, financial aid, age limits and national grant programs.

According a number of outspoken German Translation students, demonstrations began on Monday and are anticipated to continue through the weekend.  Apparently, the protests began at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich sparked these new comments from the Education Minister.  Other protests are being held simultaneously on 20 different university campuses throughout Germany.  However, German students are not alone in their call for academic reform.  In fact, the German protests are more of a display of camaraderie for students in Austria who are also demanding changes.  In Austria, complaints range from  overloaded degree courses, social inequality within the educational system, chronic funding shortages, and the introduction of tuition fees and the bachelor and master system into German universities problems in restructuring bachelors and masters degree programs.  More specifically, student tend to be protesting most for publicly funded education.

As part of their protests, students are planning blockades and sit-in to raise awareness and start formal discussion for new reforms to the German education system.  Under the slogan of “Money for college, not financial institutions,” the students plan to conduct mock government bailouts by conducting mock bank robberies and sit-ins.   According to Certified German Translation workers, German politicians have claimed that while there is no money for education their actions show that there is plenty of money to bailout banks.

At the same time, students are also protesting the revision of curriculum that is geared towards the needs of the business world.  The new programs tend to reduce funding for programs like sociology in favor of engineering, healthcare and business programs.

When their purchase fails to bring fulfillment, many simply go shopping again to try something else. This crippling belief is the cause of tremendous debt in our culture, both financially and spiritually.

Imagine, in 2007 there were more bankruptcies than college graduates! This year is shaping up to be even worse. We need to realize a little bit less, not more is what we really need. Indeed, as George S. Clason shared in The Richest Man in Babylon, when we learn to let go of the need for more money and instead learn to give more to those in need, we are teaching our brain that there is enough. So let us be wise with what we have, not with what we don’t have.

 2) It will all work out somehow.

            Incredibly 80% of Americans reach the age of retirement with less than $250.00 in savings! One fourth of us believe that the lottery is the best chance for retirement. Others simply try the next get rich scheme. Ruth Carter was one person who made money selling products to friends and friends of friends.             A much wiser way to look at money is to realize that over time small things make a big difference. Following a common sense plan like this one is far wiser than simply leaving things to chance.

 3) I have plenty of time.

            As has been often shared, time is the most precious commodity we have, and none of us knows what tomorrow holds. In the New Testament one man makes grand and selfish plans, only to be told by God, “You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?” (Luke 12:20).    

            Putting off until another time decisions that need to be made today will benefit no one. Rather than waiting until it is too late, or until we are forced to change due to some emergency, may we instead begin today making better decisions with how we use money, pay off debt and perhaps most importantly, believe about finances.
