My better half and I have recently finished our beginners diving course in the UK. We upgraded straight away to a sophisticated course and were considering having a scuba vacation. A holiday to lift us up, so we selected the Red Sea. We had considered taking a scuba holiday in the Sheschelles but the overall holiday prices were way out of our budget.

We also needed to avoid crowds so we probably did not look into Sharm however wandering on the net we found this place called Safaga. The best thing about Safaga is that it’s also windy. This was the 1st scuba diving vacation that we ever took. To make things easier and more relaxed we went thru a company that focus only on sports abroad which tailor quoted our scuba diving holiday. We managed to choose from a wide array of accommodations and some dive colleges. We made a decision to go for a particular hotel because it looked clean, was reasonable and also they’d a windsurfing club on site. The dive college was well run by friendly, welcoming and funny executives who all took their job seriously and enthusiastically.
During out two weeks scuba diving holiday, we dived twice a day and I got 4 full days of windsurfing as well , while my other half was relaxing by the enthralling pool. The grub was brilliant and didn’t get the Egyptian tummy! We had a lot of lobster, and some very nicely prepared grouper. The dive sites were just amazing ( though we skipped the Salem wreck, out of respect of the three hundred casualties ).
During this scuba diving holiday, we didn’t dive twice at the same spot and witnessed so much sea life that I’ll not recall the whole thing. The high spot of the dives was this confrontation with this pretty manta ray which got so close to my other half that she was able to touch it. We got a little frightened when a whitetip shark became a little too curious to our liking! The dolphins were so stunning it made me feel guilty to have fed on them the prior evening!

We were talking about purchasing another diving holiday next spring, back to Egypt as they are such a lot of dive sites to enjoy. The vicinity of the med makes it magnificant for wreck dives, that may be the center of our next dive holiday.
